Bread


Grandma Brady's recipe - it's kinda choppy - but this is what I was given - heavenly homemade bread & whole wheat works well!

2 cups water & 2 cups milk in saucepan. When warm add 1 tbs salt & 1/4 c butter & 1/3 - 2/3 sugar. Stir until butter is melted. Pour in mixing bowl & add 4 c. flour & yeast mix (1/4 c warm water & 1/2 tsp sugar with 2 pkg yeast) until smooth. Grad add 6-8 c. flour - or until able to knead. knead & let rise 1 hour - punch down & put in pans - let rise again for 1 hour then bake at 375 degrees for 40 min

To make bullet bread: use a canned juice container. Usually apple & pineapple is the best - do not use grape or tomato juice - you can't get rid of the juice flavor, no matter how hard you try. make sure you grease your pan well before putting the dough in it & bake it with the top side up - you'll have to possibly take out one of the racks in your oven to do this.
